MIAC Young Professionals Committee

Purpose

  • To promote participation of professionals age 36 and younger in the Canadian musical instrument, pro-audio and lighting industry
  • To serve the MIAC board with a committee liaison's input from this age group
  • To create a forum in which to share new ideas and experiences, and to have access to senior members of the MIAC board for subsequent discussion.
  • To promote friendship and contacts between young Canadian music-industry professionals who might not otherwise have a chance to meet.

Structure

  • Any MIAC music and sound industry professional, age 36 or younger, is welcome to register a complimentary membership.
  • One nominated and elected representative - to liaise and attend annual MIAC meetings.
  • Sub-committee of 2-3 people to assist in event planning for MIAC Young Professionals Committee.
  • One senior member from MIAC board to be named the 'committee liaison'.

Events/Meetings

  • MIAC Annual General Meeting, August 22nd, 2005
  • Designated MIAC Young Professionals Committee table at MIAC Gala
  • Various get-togethers through the year e.g. Frankfurt Messe, Educator Conferences, etc.
  • Join with (NAYMM) at NAMM events in the U.S.
